Pedestrian killed in M13 accident

AN accident on the M13, near the Westville Mall, claimed the life of one man and left another injured at around 1.15pm today.

According to Chris Botha, Netcare 911’s media liaison officer, a report from the scene indicated that a man was trying to run across the roadway when a vehicle hit him in the fast lane.

While emergency services were standing off  at the scene, a vehicle came hurtling down the road and collided into another stationary vehicle, injuring another man.

“Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the pedestrian lying on the road. He died before our arrival, due to the extensive injuries he sustained. The other patient was treated at the scene and then transported to hospital,” said Botha.
