Woman stabs boyfriend to death

A 29-year-old woman was arrested on Human Rights Day for the murder of her boyfriend.

A 29-YEAR-old woman appeared in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court for her boyfriend’s murder on Monday.

According to Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Cst Phindile Radebe, police responded to a report of a murder in Nazareth, Pinetown on Saturday, 21 March (Human Rights Day). “They found a group of people and the body of a 26-year-old man outside a house in Mkhize Road. The deceased had one stabbed wound to his chest, and was declared dead at the scene.

“It is alleged that the couple had an argument inside the bedroom, and the victim was stabbed in his chest with a knife. The girlfriend, who is the suspect in the murder, was arrested and charged.”

The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni, applauded the members for the speedy arrest of the suspect.

“We will ensure that the perpetrator has her day in court. A large percentage of our murders are as a result of random acts of domestic violence such as these,” she said.

The woman was remanded into custody and is due back in court on Thursday, 26 March.
