Grade 10 pupil arrested for school stabbing

A Grade 10 pupil who allegedly stabbed a Grade 11 pupil was arrested during an exam.

POLICE arrested a 19-year-old pupil at Khabazela High School in KwaNyuswa for stabbing a Grade 11 pupil.

The Grade 10 pupil was arrested at school while he was writing an exam on Monday.

Hillcrest SAPS communications officer, Cst Ndumiso Manqele, said it is alleged that on Friday, 20 March at about 10.30am, two pupils had fight during break time. “It is alleged that the accused drew his knife and stabbed the victim. He sustained four stabbed wounds,” said Manqele.

A case of assault with grievous bodily harm was opened at the Hillcrest Police Station.

The pupil is expected to appear in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court today (Wednesday, 25 March).
