
TWO men were arrested in connection with Forest Hills robberies after cases of house robberies increased in the area. One man, who was the most wanted, was arrested on Monday, 20 April in Zamokuhle area, Wyebank.
Another suspected robber was arrested on Monday, 11 May after a house robbery which took place in Homestead Avenue.
On Friday, 8 May, Heinrich Schwartz from Eventus investigations received information on the whereabouts of some stolen items that was possibly taken during a house robbery in Forest Hills.
Four men entered a house in Homestead Avenue, Forest Hills where they tied up and held up the family for an hour on Friday, 8 May.
They fled in the family’s car with cash, jewellery, a flat screen TV and other valuable items. They knocked over a jogger while speeding away. The car was later recovered.
Heinrich and the Shongweni K9 Unit went to investigate. They searched the premises and discovered stolen items that were taken from Homestead Avenue earlier the same day.
Cst Musa Khwela from the Shongweni K9 Unit and Heinrich followed up on more information and two men were identified.
On Tuesday, 12 May Cst Khwela received more info regarding the whereabouts on one of the men, who was then arrested.
Cst Khwela, Cpt Neil Thaver, W/O Buckthorp, Cst Bheki Dladla and Heinrich worked on information given and identified the locations and names of the outstanding man.

In all these house robberies it is alleged that a specific modus operandi was used by the robbers whereby they gained entry into the complainants’ properties and robbed them of their belongings.
