Welfare society needs your help

Pinetown Highway Child and Family Welfare Society assists abandoned children, rape victims, the homeless and abused people by donating food parcels, clothing, household items and toiletries.

PINETOWN Highway Child and Family Welfare Society needs your help.

According to Ellen Attwell, fundraiser for the welfare society, there are three issues that need urgent attention. The first concern is that an LG fridge, which was donated by an organisation four years ago, has stopped working.

“Due to load shedding almost every day, we believe a fuse or something must have blown. The power comes on but the fridge is not cooling at all. I’m sure its a tiny problem that can be repaired, we just need an electrician or sponsor to have a look at it,” said Attwell.

The second concern is the automated driveway gate, which stopped working two weeks ago. She believes that this could have been caused through load shedding and here again needs either an electrician or sponsor to please repair it.

“Because we are an NPO, repairs and purchasing new equipment are difficult as we don’t have the funds to do so. We rely on public support and sponsor assistance to run our day-to-day business,” said Attwell.

The welfare organisation also desperately need children’s clothes, in sizes from birth to 12 years old. Donations can be dropped off at 35 Livingstone Road in Pinetown, or contact Attwell on 082 697 7680.
