Marimba band wows Watercrest Mall shoppers

The Curro Hillcrest Christian Academy’s award-winning Intermediate Phase Marimba Band wowed shoppers at Watercrest Mall on the weekend.

The marimba band comprises 20 dedicated and enthusiastic young players, ranging from Grade 5 to 7, who excel under the tutelage of head marimba coach, Ian Holloway.

Their most recent achievements include attaining A+++ level and the trophy for the best percussion band at the Queensburgh Festival of the Arts, as well as a second place in battle of the bands and a first place in the strictly classical category at the International Festival held at St Benedict’s in Bedfordview.
