Financial planner flag bearer at international conference
Dr Pravin Thakur represented South Africa at the financial planning conference in New Orleans, United States.
QUEENSBURGH’S financial planner, Dr Pravin Thakur, a representative of Liberty Life, will be leaving for New Orleans, United States on Thursday, 11 June to attend a financial planning conference at which global trends and developments will be under the spotlight.
The conference is organised by the Million Dollar Round Table Association, of which Dr Thakur has been a member for 14 years and is currently a Top of the Table Member. “I’m excited to attend the New Orleans conference and return with a keener understanding of international practices in the ever-changing and evolving profession of financial planning, of which the knowledge attained will be used for the benefit of my clients.
“Today, financial planning has become much more complex and a highly-regulated practice. It is important to keep abreast of trends and meet customer expectations. An international experience definitely affords one the best opportunity to achieve this goal,” said Dr Thakur.
The cherry on the top for Dr Thakur is that he has been selected as a flag bearer and will carry the South African flag onto the stage at the glittering opening ceremony, at which 9 500 financial professionals from over 75 countries across the globe will be present.
“The flag ceremony takes about half an hour, and it will be a memorable and proud moment. I am really looking forward to the experience,” he added.
