QASA promotes visibility with jacket donation

QASA fulfils its social responsibility by donating reflective bibs to the Gillitts 2 Community Network.

THE QuadPara Association of South Africa (QASA) recently heeded to a request made by the Gillitts 2 Community Network for high visibility reflective jackets, and donated 41 reflective vests for the volunteers of the NPO.

National director for QASA, Ari Seirlis, said road safety and prevention campaigns form a vital part of the projects carried out by the organisation. “This was our way of giving back to our community by making a contribution to these service providers, and at the same time it is good for our branding. It is difficult to change the behaviour of drivers, but we aim to increase the visibility of pedestrians and cyclists, and this reduces the chances of them being involved in an accident and sustaining spinal chord injuries.”

Allan Dyer, founder of the Gillitts 2 Community network, said “We are grateful for the support from our residents and are proud to have the QASA offices in our area. They do fantastic work, and we thank Ari and his staff for recognising the contribution our network and our patrol team of 41 volunteer G2 patrollers make to our community. We are proud to have been recently registered as an NPO with the Department of Social Development and will certainly carry on our efforts to make the Gillitts 2 area a safer and better place to live for all of us.

“We are appealing to all residents who believe in and appreciate our efforts to assist with funding this and moving it forward by contributing on a voluntary donation basis. Businesses may consider allocating a portion of their corporate social responsibility budget to this worthy cause.”

Dyer encourages residents to visit their website to find out more on what the network requires and how you can assist with your contributions.
