PBHS rugby team learns from defeat

Pinetown Boys' congratulated the opposition, Clifton, on the way they played.

PINETOWN Boys’ High School rugby team got an opportunity to play at at Growthpoint Kings Park Stadium against Clifton School on Saturday, 13 June.

The game finished with a dejected team, as the scoreline read 53-10 to Clifton.

PBHS sport coordinator, Thokozani Zulu, said a lot of lessons were learned about the future of Pinetown rugby.

“Lessons were learned about relentless pressure that can be applied by a team which looks after the ball for long periods of time. Also, to keep composure during big games is a great test for the boys, and the ability to handle big moments like playing a curtain raiser match before a Super 15 match and the crowds that come with such an occasion must be considered.

“All this will go deep in the memory banks of the boys,” he said.

Pinetown Boys’ congratulated the opposition, Clifton, on the way they played.

“We look forward to our next meeting.”

Zulu said the school is very grateful to John Smit and the Sharks, who made the day possible and allowed them an opportunity to play at the stadium.
