Pascal wins KZN Junior Super Chef

Pascal Roosendaal's 'surf and turf' dish was a sure win for the judges.

PASCAL Roosendaal, a Grade 6 pupil at Cawood Academy in Hillcrest, was announced as the KZN winner of Hirsch and Defy Junior Super Chef competition recently.

The final cook-off took place at the East Coast Radio House and Garden Show on Friday 4 June. Four contestants won the honour of taking part in the finals at The Kitchen Studio Celebrity Chef Kitchen, following a series of competitions that had taken place in June at Hirsch branches in Ballito, Umhlanga, Springfield Park and Hillcrest.

Finalists were given a mystery basket to prepare their meal with. Pascal’s ‘surf and turf’ dish was a sure win for the judges. The meal comprised of fillet steak, prawns, crispy potatoes, caramelised onions and a blue cheese sauce.
