Three injured after head-on collision in Hillcrest

Three people were injured, including a pedestrian, during an accident in Hillcrest.

Two men and a woman were injured this morning after a head-on collision on Fisher Road in Hillcrest.

ER24 paramedics were alerted to the scene and upon arrival they found one light motor vehicle on the side of the road, while the second vehicle sat in the middle of the road. Debris from both vehicles was spread across the road.

“Both drivers and one pedestrian had sustained minor to moderate injuries in the collision. Fortunately, no-one had sustained any serious injuries,” said ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring.

Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and thereafter transported them to St Mary’s Hospital for further medical treatment.

It is believed the collision was caused when both vehicles swerved to avoid colliding with a pedestrian crossing the road.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
