Hospital staff donate linen

"The Restdale management would like to thank Crompton Hospital and their staff for making the event possible and contributing to the care of the sick and elderly. The donations are appreciated by those in need"

THE Crompton Hospital staff visited the Restdale Nursing Home in Malvern on Tuesday, 14 July. There, they handed over 40 comforters with sheets and pillow cases to the patients at the home, donated by the hospital as part of their community outreach programme under the Sizanani committee – a corporate social investment programme which is an inherent part of Life Healthcare’s business ethos with a primary focus on health and education, particularly in assisting disadvantaged communities.

The hospital’s regional marketing manager, Leanne Nyiri, said the hospital works closely with the home as it relies mainly on outside donations. “Life The Crompton Hospital also donated hospital beds to the home recently,” she said. The hospital manager, Barries Barnard, explained the event’s purpose. “On behalf of the staff at Life The Crompton Hospital, it gives us great pleasure to support a deserving organisation such as Restdale Nursing Home.

“As one of more than 60 Life Healthcare facilities in the country, we are committed to providing care not only to patients in hospital but also to the communities which we serve,” said Barnard.

The patients enjoyed the occasion, receiving gifts while their favourite musician, George Schwartz, played the guitar and entertained the patients. “The Restdale management would like to thank Crompton Hospital and their staff for making the event possible and contributing to the care of the sick and elderly. The donations are appreciated by those in need,” said the operations manager at the Restdale Nursing Home, Ruth Dwyer.
