Decomposed body found near train station

An inquest has been opened at Mariannhill Police Station after a decomposed body was found near Klaarwater train station.

MARIANNHILL SAPS are looking for the relatives of a man whose body was found next to Klaarwater train station.

According to Mariannhill SAPS station commander, Col Themba Madonsela, the body was found by a passer-by on Monday night at around 6pm, who noticed a strange odour in the area.

“The man is believed to be around 40 years old and he was wearing a grey jersey. It is still not clear what was the cause of his death, we are waiting for postmortem results.”

An inquest was opened at Mariannhill Police Station.
