Crèches receive donations

Two crèches get donations in good faith

IN the July spirit of Mandela Day and Ubuntu, two crèches in Burlington Heights received much-needed donations from Amazing Kids Pre-School in Seaview.

The helpers and educators at Siyathuthuka Learning Crèche and Okuhle Crèche were filled with smiles and gratitude when the principal of Amazing Kids Pre-School, Nisha Madaree, and Ward 65 councillor, Chris van den Burgh, handed over a printer/photo copier, a medical aid box and toys to the schools.

“It was a pleasure to donate items to these crèches as I personally have seen that they really need the help from others to make it a comfortable place for the kids. The kids are well mannered and it was a pleasure interacting,” said Madaree, adding that more assistance is always needed.

The councillor emphasised that both créches still have a long way to go and that any help will be greatly appreciated. “The two créches are dear to my heart and I have watched them struggle through tough times, when teachers have even worked for no money at times. The children are so sweet and they need any assistance that they can get. Over the past few years I have attempted to assist them where ever I can with painting, doing small renovations and finding donations,” said Van den Burgh.
