Bus driver seriously injured in collision

Rescue Care paramedics arrived on the scene to find the seriously injured driver lying next to his bus.

A BUS driver is in a serious condition after the bus he was driving lost control and drove through a fence before falling down a steep embankment into a service station, ploughing into three cars in Main Road, Malvern just after 3pm on Monday.

Rescue Care paramedics arrived on the scene to find the seriously injured driver lying next to his bus. Fortunately, there were no passengers in the bus at the time of the incident. The bus came to a halt on its wheels after hitting with three stationary cars and a wall.

The driver was the only person injured and Rescue Care’s advanced life support paramedics worked to stabilise him on scene before transporting him to a nearby private facility. It is unclear what caused the single vehicle to lose control. SAPS was on the scene and will be investigating.
