5 injured in Pinetown taxi crash

A car veered off the road onto the sidewalk, hitting pedestrians.

A SIDE-impact accident at the traffic lights along Richmond Road under the M13 left five people injured on Thursday afternoon, 10 September.

Netcare 911’s spokesman, Chris Botha, said that at round 5.11pm the taxi was travelling from the M13 and collided into the side of a car travelling along Richmond Road. The car then veered onto the sidewalk and hit two pedestrians.

Paramedics and the rescue unit arrived at the scene and found the intersection obstructed with debris.

“After assessing the injured, it was found that one person had sustained serious injuries while four escaped with minor injuries,” said Botha.

Medics treated the injured at the scene and transported them to various hospitals in the area.
