Man stabbed multiple times in Pinetown

The motive of the stabbing is unknown and the suspect is expected to appear at the Pinetown Magistrate's Court.

PINETOWN Detectives arrested a 31-year-old man on Tuesday, 15 December for stabbing a man in Hill Street.

According to Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Lt Bongumusa Manqele, it is alleged that the officers were driving along Hill Street in the Pinetown CBD when they saw a person with a knife chasing another man.

”Police jumped out their vehicle, proceeded to the scene and upon arrival they found the suspect stabbing the victim (33) with a knife. The victim sustained multiple stab wounds in the head and the left shoulder,” said Manqele.

Police then arrested the assailant and seized the knife. The victim was transported to hospital.

Manqele said the motive for the stabbing was unknown.

“The arrested man is expected to appear in Pinetown Magistrate’s Court soon,” he added.
