Wishlist comes true for crisis centre

A local security company gave back on International Women’s Day.

THE Open Door Crisis Care Centre (ODCCC) in Pinetown has thanked the staff of a local private security company for their support in celebrating international Women’s Day.

The employees of ADT Security’s Durban branch rallied together and donated 20 gift bags filled with personal hygiene items in support of women within the community.

All donated items were based on a wishlist drawn up by the ODCCC. Goods such as soap, toothpaste, sanitary pads, shampoo and deodorant were included in each gift bag, which were donated to the ladies from the ODCCC’s shelter for abused women.

Ivan Govender, ADT Security’s district manager (KwaZulu-Natal region), congratulated his staff for giving so willingly.

“Well done to everyone who was involved in our Women’s Day initiative and for donating so generously. We encourage all upper Highway residents to show their support to the Open Door team as they need our assistance in order to continue providing such as essential role to our community,” he said.
