Jade dances her way to World Champs

WESTVILLE Girls’ High School has chosen Grade 12 pupil, Jade Townley, as its SPAR Star of the Month.

Jade has been dancing since she was six. She does modern, musical theatre, hip hop, jazz and contemporary dance.

Jade recently took part in the South African Championships of Performing Arts and won a gold medal, three silver medals and a bronze medal.

She was also selected to take part in the World Championships of Performing Arts in Los Angeles, California in July.

Jade is also going to Croatia to compete in the Dance Star World Masters against five dancers from five other countries next month.

She received full Colours for performing arts in Grade 10, and has been involved in Westville Boys’ High School and Westville Girls’ High School’s shows since Grade 9.

The first five years of her dancing career were devoted to Royal Academy ballet and she then ventured into many different styles.
