24 children injured in taxi collision in Kwadangezi

Fortunately no serious injuries were reported.

A GROUP of children on their way to school this morning were injured in a collision between a bakkie and a taxi in Kwadangezi.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene and found the taxi parked on the side of the road while the bakkie was found lying on its side in a lane.

According to ER24 spokesman, Russel Meiring, several children were found walking around on the scene.

Meiring said, “Paramedics assessed the patients and found that 24 school children had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Fortunately, no serious or fatal injuries were reported.”

“It is understood that the children had been on their way to school when the collision occurred,” said Meiring.

The injured were treated and transported to nearby hospitals. The exact cause of the collision is not yet known.
