Man stabbed in Hillcrest robbery

The victim's mom has warned people to be wary around the area.

A DRUMMOND man (38) sustained stab wounds earlier today when he tried to fight off robbers in Hillcrest.

According to Nikki McClelland, her son was returning from the FNB ATM and was making his way to a shop in the Hillcrest Corner when he was attacked by two men who were armed with knifes.

“He tried to fight them off and sustained stab wounds.

“They robbed him of R 800, his prescription glasses and his driver’s license.”

McClelland said she was concerned about the crime that is escalating in the area.

“There have been incidents of robberies and I think people should be warned and be wary when travelling along that road,” she said.
