15 injured in N3 taxi crash

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident which left 15 people seriously injured.

FIFTEEN people were injured when the taxi they were travelling in, left the roadway and rolled several times on the N3 Durban Bound before Spaghetti Junction just after 7.30am on Saturday, 10 September.

According to Garrith Jamieson, operations director at Rescue Care, paramedics arrived at the scene to find the taxi had left the roadway coming to rest on its side in the bush.

“Most of the passengers had suffered serious injuries. Several ambulances together with Advanced Life Support paramedics worked to stabilise the injured before transporting them to various Durban hospitals,” said Jamieson.

At this stage, the exact cause of the collision is unknown. The necessary authorities were on scene and will investigate.
