Wife accused of plotting husband’s murder

Hawks spokesman, Capt Simphiwe Mhlongo said preliminary investigations revealed that a woman (25) hired two men to murder her husband.

THREE people including a 25-year-old woman appeared in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court on Monday for conspiracy to commit murder.

The three people aged 25, 30 and 32 were arrested by Hawks, Ntuzuma FCS and K9 unit members.

According to Hawks spokesman, Capt Simphiwe Mhlongo, the incident happened at Waterloo Crescent in Pinetown on Friday, 14 October.

”Police received information about a murder that was going to take place in Pinetown. Preliminary investigations suggested that a 25 year-old woman hired two men to murder her husband.”

He said an operation was swiftly conducted and police followed the suspects to the house where a 54-year-old man was going to be killed.

“Upon arrival, members swooped in on the suspects while they were hiding in the boot, allegedly waiting for the call from the wife,” said Mhlongo.
