Help pooches find forever homes

Help dozens of dogs find homes this festive season.

PROJECT Dog Durban, a non-profit organisation, hopes to find forever homes for 38 puppies and 42 adult dogs this festive season. The organisation is made up of a small group of passionate and dedicated individuals who rescue, rehabilitate and rehome puppies and dogs. They rely on donations from the public to keep them going.

“At Project Dog, we do the work we do because we are a voice for the voiceless and we help so many dogs and puppies. We home an average of 50 dogs a month,” said the NPO’s founder, Quicha Morgado.

The public can assist them by adopting, fostering or making a donation. The organisation is in need of funds to assist with the very high vet bills. “You are also welcome to donate bedding, blankets, toys, puppy food and collars or anything that dogs would enjoy,” said Quicha.

All of the dogs are vaccinated, dewormed and all adult rescue dogs are sterilised before they are homed. For those who adopt a puppy, an adoption contract is signed and the puppy’s new family will receive a reduced rate for when it needs to be sterilised at six months old.

“The puppies, and some adults, are in foster homes throughout Durban and some of the adults are waiting patiently in kennels for a foster or forever home. Please consider opening your heart and home to a rescue. When fostering, food and bedding and all medical costs are covered,” said Quicha.

If you would like to assist the organisation by making a donation, fostering or even adopting a dog, contact Quicha on 083 272 7201 or email quichamorgado@gmail.com
