Mpendulo encourages others to read

The Grade 6 learner hopes his classmates will enjoy reading as much as he does with a generous donation of books to his school library.

MPENDULO Dlamini, a Grade 6 learner at John Wesley School, is an avid reader and through his donation of books to his school, hopes to encourage his school friends to read as well.

Mpendulo won the reading prize at the school’s annual prize giving ceremony at the end of 2015 and developed a love for reading at a very young age. He, and his two younger siblings, are encouraged to read as much as possible.

The Dlamini family hardly ever watch television at home as they choose to read books instead. Mpendulo added that books allow him to dream as they take him to places unseen and have improved his language and spelling skills. Mpendulo’s family recently donated a dozen books to the John Wesley School’s library.
