FIFTEEN people were injured when a taxi overturned and rolled down an embankment this afternoon along Patna Road in Botha’s Hill.
Netcare 911 paramedics and the fire department arrived at the scene and made their way down the embankment to help the injured commuters. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free one of the injured passengers while emergency workers helped the other injured people up the embankment.
“After all the injured were triaged, it was found that two people were seriously injured and 13 had minor injuries,” said Chris Botha, the media liaison officer for Netcare 911. The injured commuters were treated at the scene and then transported to hospital.
