Car rolls off St John’s bridge

Two children aged three and five were injured in the collision.

THREE people were injured this morning when two cars collided, pushing one off the M13 St John’s Bridge in Pinetown.

According to a report issued by ER24, one car was found in the middle of the road while the other was found at the bottom of an embankment, under the bridge.

A man and two boys aged three and five who were in the car which was found at the bottom of the embankment sustained moderate injuries.

“Paramedics treated the patients and transported them to a nearby hospital. The driver of the other car was not injured,” said ER24 spokesman, Russel Meiring.

He said it is believed that the two cars collided in the middle of the road.

“One of the cars then rolled off the bridge and came to a stop at the bottom of the embankment,” said Meiring.

My name is Sanelisiwe Tsinde, and I'm a mother of two boys and very family-oriented. Being a community journalist for years, I can proudly say I love writing about positive community news articles and giving a voice to the voiceless. Seeing people getting assistance warms my heart. Every day is a different challenge and a new learning opportunity. I supply news for our trusted publication weekly, and a few years ago, Caxton ventured into online publication, so I contribute daily to the websites. I could say I am a multimedia journalist, and working in a community newspaper is beneficial as we do not focus on one thing but we do a bit of everything.
