Green thumbs up for littlies

The learners at Little Red Hen Pre-Primary School will learn the skill of growing vegetables.

THE Little Red Hen Pre-Primary School celebrated the opening of its vegetable garden in true style.

The parents were treated to a high tea and everyone in attendance wore a colourful or quirky hat. Lindsay Gray, who runs The School for Garden Design, was the guest of honour and she cut the ribbon.

Janet Howard, or Granny Jani as she is affectionately known by the learners, gardens with the children every week and started a gardening club as an extra mural activity this year. Lindsay said, “The little ones have been given a gift of understanding, knowledge and skill that will see them through their life.”
