Wanted robber rearrested in Pinetown

The man has been linked in Pinetown and Westville housebreak-ins.

A MAN who was released with a warning by the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 19 January for five cases of housebreak-ins in the Sydenham area was rearrested by Pinetown police on Saturday for another housebreak-in.

According to the communications officer for the Pinetown SAPS, W/O Muzi Maphumulo, the man was caught breaking into a house in Ashley by the owner.

“The owner alerted the neighbours and the Ashley Neighbourhood Watch chased and arrested the man and handed him to the police. He was also wanted by the Westville SAPS for housebreak-in cases,” said Maphumulo.

He added that the man has been terrorising residents and breaking into Westville, Pinetown and Sydenham homes.
