THOMAS More College’s high school SPAR Star of the Month is Grade 10 learner, Carmen Vicent.
Carmen is a talented and passionate young sportswoman who has achieved excellent results consistently on the sports field during the last year. She has represented KZN in the U16A hockey team, as the captain for the U15A softball team (captain) as well as captain for the U15A soccer team.
During the December holidays, Carmen was selected for the South African U16 all stars team for indoor hockey and the SA U15 all stars team for softball. At school she continued her great sportsmanship as a member of the U16A hockey, U15A soccer and 1st team softball teams.
Last year, Carmen was awarded junior colours for outdoor hockey, indoor hockey, soccer and softball. Her prowess on the sports field also earned her the U15 soccer player of the year and U16 outdoor hockey player of the year titles. At a recent prize giving, she was awarded The Blake Kerdachi Trophy for junior sportsperson of the year. “We are so very proud of this talented young sportswoman,” said the school’s marketing manager, Kim Hooper.
