UKZN SRC president’s homophobic post causes outrage

People have called for action to be taken against SRC president, Kwanele Mbatha.

A HOMOPHOBIC post of on social media sites by president of the Westville UKZN  Student Representative Council, Kwanele Mbatha has caused an outrage.

The post which has since been deleted on his Facebook under the name ‘Wothi Shandu KaNdaba’ read: “Period pains remind lesbians that they’ll never become men #Word!!!”

Politicians and community activists have also taken to social networks to call for action to be taken against Mbatha.

Highway Mail has requested comment from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
