Robbers strike at Kloof shops

The gang ransacked the store and fled with the stolen goods in a Mercedes Benz.

TWO shops were hit in separate incidents in the Kloof area in yet another attack on Durban shopping centres.

In the early hours of this morning, armed robbers smashed into a shop in Kloof Village Mall.

Blue Security community and media liaison officer, Andreas Mathios said a gang of about six armed robbers smashed the front door of the store at around 2.50am.

“The gang ransacked the store and fled with a high value goods in a white Mercedes Benz,” said Mathios.

It is unclear at this stage whether the incident is linked to the spate of recent mall robberies across Durban.

In a separate incident,  robbers broke into John Dory’s in Delcairn Centre last night.

According to Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Capt Bongumusa Manqele, the robbers gained entry by breaking through the front entrance.

“Two TVs and a computer were stolen. A case of house breaking and theft was opened at Pinetown SAPS and no one has been arrested yet,” said Manqele.
