Armed men rob Botha’s Hill liquor store

Customers were also robbed of their belongings.

LLOYD’s Liquor Store was the latest shop to be hit by armed men who fled with cash and expensive alcohol. The incident reportedly took place on Friday, 19 May at around 7.30pm.

According to Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Capt Bongumusa Manqele, one of the workers was serving customers when he was accosted by a gunman who demanded cash.

“The victim opened the till and cash to the value of R10 000 was taken. Other three armed men entered the shop and robbed customers of their belongings at gunpoint.

“Various bottles of expensive liquor and 50 packets of cigarettes were stolen,” said Manqele.

Police are investigating a case of business robbery and no arrests have been made.
