13 people injured in Pinetown collision

More ambulances and Advanced Life Support paramedics were dispatched to the scene.

THIRTEEN people were injured when a taxi and bakkie collided at the intersection of Albert Road and Malcolm Road in Pinetown just before 7am today (Thursday, 1 June).

Ceron Lennox, spokesperson for Rescue Care, said paramedics arrived on scene and found the early morning commuters travelling in a taxi had been injured after the vehicle collided with a bakkie.

“A total of 13 people suffered various injuries and more ambulances and Advanced Life Support paramedics were dispatched to the scene. All the injured were stabilised and were then transported to various Durban hospitals,” said Lennox.

The exact cause of the collision will be investigated.
