Two teens injured in Westville accident

It is believed that the boys had been playing in a shopping trolley when it drifted into the traffic.

TWO 13-year-old boys were injured when a light motor vehicle hit them on Konigkramer Avenue in Westville on Sunday afternoon, 4 June.

Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson, said paramedics were on their way to a hospital when they came across the incident.

“Upon arrival, paramedics found the two boys lying on the side of the road surrounded by members of the community. The boys were assessed, one suffered moderate injuries while the second boy suffered minor injuries,”  said Meiring.

The boys were treated for their injuries and then transported to King Edward Hospital.

The driver of the vehicle fortunately escaped injury.

“It is believed that the boys had been playing in a shopping trolley when it drifted into the traffic,”  added Meiring.

Local authorities were on scene to investigate.
