Star College in Westville has chosen Grade 5 learner, Ayeesha Khan as its SPAR Star of the Month.

STAR College has selected Ayeesha S Khan as its SPAR Star of the Month for her on-going drive and passion for different languages.

Ayeesha is a Grade 5 learner who participated in the eThekwini Library and Heritage Departments’ annual Inter-District Storytelling Competition.

Ayeesha participated in the IsiZulu category.

The first round was held at the Westville North Library on 10 August. She won first prize at this level.

The final round of the competition was held at the Westville Civic Centre on 12 September.

Although IsiZulu is a second language for young Ayeesha, she made her school proud by achieving a third place medal overall.

Star College congratulates Ayeesha on her outstanding achievement. Special mention goes to her IsiZulu teacher, Philisiwe Mkhabela for her ongoing support and guidance.

Principal, Osman Karaayvaz, was overwhelmed with joy at Ayeesha’s love for languages and her enthusiasm to excel at such a young age.
