Man arrested for friend’s murder in Hammarsdale

It is alleged the suspect stabbed his friend after they had an argument.

A 23-YEAR-OLD man is expected to appear in the Mpumalanga Magistrate’ Court today (Tuesday, 3 October) facing a murder charge.

Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Capt Bongumusa Manqele said it is alleged on Saturday, 30 September at about 9pm, the suspect had an argument with his friend at Bartlett farm near Hammarsdale.

“The suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest. The victim was rushed to the clinic and was certified dead after his arrival,” said Manqele.

A case of murder was registered at Hammarsdale police station for investigation and the man was arrested on Sunday, 1 October and detained at Mpumalanga police station.
