Young man gunned down in New Germany

Ntuthuko Nkwanyana (23) went to check who was knocking on the door when he was shot.

A YOUNG man, Ntuthuko Nkwanyana (23), was gunned down at his parent’s home in New Germany yesterday afternoon (20 November).

Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Capt Bongumusa Manqele, said Nkwanyana’s father had just arrived home in Melissa Crescent when he heard a knock on the door.

“He sent Ntuthuko to check who was knocking and suddenly heard gunshots. When he went to investigate he found his son lying on the floor and saw an unknown man leaving the house and driving off in a white VW Polo,” he said.

Manqele said six cartridges were found on the scene and a case of murder was opened at the Pinetown SAPS.

No arrests have been made as yet. According to unconfirmed reports, it is believed the gunman was after the deceased’s father.
