Clermont Eco champs to expose their work to other countries
The Aller River Pilot Project needs R20 000 to implement a Participatory Video which will include caregivers, street sweepers and community ablution block care takers.

TO powerfully deepen awareness and build engagement in the Clermont community, the Aller River Pilot Project has partnered with a London-based NPO InsightShare to implement a Participatory Video (PV) process.
PV is not primarily about movie-making. It is about engaging with local people, putting a powerful communication tool (the video camera) in their hands, and screening the video as part of facilitating ‘cycling conversations’ in the community on often-hidden yet important things that touch their lives, hence potentially changing behaviours and relationships with mandated municipal service providers towards sustaining healthier waterways and communities.
Between May and August 2018, the PV sub-Project will build the skills of the eco-champ team to facilitate PV processes (five days), carry out a PV process with participant groups in Clermont (three days), watch and edit the video material, and screen the video at a public event in Clermont. Potential participant groups are community care-givers (caring for people living with HIV-AIDS, among others), street sweepers, and community ablution block caretakers.

“We have selected this highly innovative process because we believe it can make a significant contribution to behaviour change but it is an “un-budgeted” expenditure and we need R20 000 to make it happen,” said eThekwini Conservancies Forum and Kloof Conservancy chairman, Paolo Candotti.
” We are urgently appealing to local industry/businesses to consider making a donation towards this sub-project. We can include the sponsors’ logos on the completed video which is likely to be made available across a number of platforms and will also be used in various conferences where the Aller River Project will be presented giving the sponsors good exposure.
Donations should be made to:
Account Name: Kloof Conservancy
Account Number: 4080835263
Bank: ABSA
Universal Branch Code: 632005
Beneficiary reference: “YOUR NAME + PV”
The Kloof Conservancy is a registered NPO (142-531 NPO) and can issue Section 18A Tax certificates (PBO registration 930013057) making any donation tax efficient.
