Waterfall women stitch for warmth

The caring women from Knit and Natter recently donated bags of knitted items to the Robin Hood Foundation.

MEMBERS of Waterfall’s Knit and Natter group recently donated beautiful blankets, beanies, jerseys and booties to The Robin Hood Foundation (RHF) for their Love the Babies projects.

The coordinator of the Robin Hood Foundation, Kim Griffith Jones, said, “It is always such a pleasure when we get to meet some of the amazing women in our community that knit for our projects. So often donations are dropped off anonymously and we don’t know who to thank!”

Kim said she could see each item was made with love and care and noted their importance as each garment would either be donated to the elderly or the newborns in the Love the Babies project.

“There is nothing quite like putting a hand-made knitted beanie on a brand new baby or handing over a knitted blanket to keep a gogo warm, especially with our winter’s getting colder and colder each year. Our most grateful thanks to the Knit and Natter group and all of the wonderful ladies who continue to knit and donate at our drop-off points on a regular basis.”

The Knit and Natter group gathers on the first and third Wednesday of every month at the Waterfall Library to knit with the purpose of giving back.
