Aller River project requires funding
The eco team needs R 50 000 per month to continue their work of rehabilitating rivers in eThekwini.
FUNDING for phase three of the Aller River Pilot Project comes to an end on Wednesday, 30 January and the eco team needs more funds to continue with phase four of this worthy cause.
Project manager, Nick Swan, said they would like to keep the team running and continue with the monitoring and school advocacy programmes until additional major funding is secured.
The project was started in 2016 to help find sensible solutions to address the deteriorating health of the rivers in eThekwini.

“The minimum we need is about R50 000 per month, which is 10 companies donating R5 000 each, not a lot considering the long term benefit to our community with this project,” said Swan.
He appealed to businesses to assist them and added they are planning a series of smaller sub-projects which can, to some extent, be tailored to a donor’s requirements.
“Donations can be structured to secure BBBE points, or we can provide Section 18A tax donation certificates from the Kloof Conservancy,” he said.
People or businesses who wish to assist can email info@kloofconservancy.org.za.
Donations go to the implementing agent for this project, the Kloof Conservancy, which allocates the money to the Aller River Pilot Project.
