Robin Hood starts 2019 on a high note

The funds will go towards Robin's Hood Foundation's Mahala Market.

THE Robin Hood Foundation’s (RHF) first Mahala Tea fund-raiser, held in partnership with BMW Supertech Pinetown, was a classy, high-energy networking event.

Held in BMW’s new state-of-the-art dealership in Kirk Road, guests were asked to bring in pre-loved clothing, linen and non-perishable food items in lieu of fees in support of RHF’s Mahala Markets which the foundation will be hosting for the gogos and mkhulus through the year.

Guests browsed the exhibition by Jumla, Dis-Chem, Lauren Ginn Accessories, Jennings Fine Foods as well as Deli Italia and Aromadough while being treated to a mouth-watering array of breakfast treats by The Farmer’s Daughter, along with freshly brewed tea and coffee by Sans On The Go Café, before taking their seats and enjoying talks by inspiring guest speakers Rudolf Avallone, Cindy Norcott and Caitlyn De beer.

The morning ended with some fabulous raffle prizes and goodie bags.

Founder of Robin Hood Foundation, Cindy Norcott said, “We love bringing the community together so what better than a free networking morning to uplift and inspire as well as raise awareness about our mahala markets.

“We are so grateful for BMW Supertech Pinetown’s generous support in partnering with us on this event and all the companies that got involved to donate prizes to help make it such a fantastic event. What a wonderful way to kick off 2019,” said Norcott.

My name is Sanelisiwe Tsinde, and I'm a mother of two boys and very family-oriented. Being a community journalist for years, I can proudly say I love writing about positive community news articles and giving a voice to the voiceless. Seeing people getting assistance warms my heart. Every day is a different challenge and a new learning opportunity. I supply news for our trusted publication weekly, and a few years ago, Caxton ventured into online publication, so I contribute daily to the websites. I could say I am a multimedia journalist, and working in a community newspaper is beneficial as we do not focus on one thing but we do a bit of everything.
