Bible study group robbed at gunpoint in Westville

The four men fled with two of the victims' cars which were later recovered.

A GROUP of 13 people, who gathered at a house in Cedar Road, Westville for their Bible study session, were robbed by armed men on Tuesday evening.

Westville SAPS communications officer, Capt Elizabeth Squires said the victims were inside the house when they saw four men on the veranda.

She said the four suspects, one armed with a gun, entered the house and demanded the victims cell phones. They also took laptops, jewellery and a TV.

“The goods were loaded into two of the victims’ vehicles, a Toyota Yaris and a Hyundai i20,” said Squires.

A joint effort by SAPS, Metro Police and security companies led to the recovery of the Toyota Yaris.
