Epic lunch served in Inchanga

Highbury boys helped with the delivery and distribution of 1400 sandwiches at Inchanga Primary School on International School Meals Day.

INTERNATIONAL School Meals Day was on Thursday, 14 March and Highbury Grade 6 boys helped Julika Falconer, Highbury mum and CEO of a local NPO called Zero2Five Trust, to feed lunch to 1 400 children.

Highbury marketing assistant, Jacqui Maurice, said it was an epic undertaking, “from getting 1 400 lunch boxes, to making peanut butter sandwiches to put in them, culminating in delivering them to Inchanga Primary, our twin school, and Ethembeni School next door.”

The Inchanga children were also given Futurelife porridge, fresh apples from The Juice Kitchen and other gifts.

“It has been a great experience for our Grade 6s and we are sure they had many stories to tell at home that evening,” said Jacqui.
