Curro learners help beautify Hillcrest

A group of high schoolers partnered with the Keep Hillcrest Beautiful Association and cleared out 14 bags of litter along Old Main Road.

CURRO Hillcrest’s Environmental Group started a wonderful initiative to help the Keep Hillcrest Beautiful Association with its objectives.

The group was formed by learner, Kayla Sankey, and she quickly inspired a number of other classmates to join her.

The group gathered to pick up litter in Hillcrest and, in an hour, filled 14 large bags. The rubbish collected was found along a section of Old Main Road.

“The problem of littering needs to be addressed at a higher level, as it is a scourge in South Africa,” said the Keep Hillcrest Beautiful Association’s Marge Mitchell.

“Well done to the Environmental Group from Curro. I challenge other schools in the area to follow suit.”
