Tanya’s charismatic, passionate and hilarious presentation was both informative and therapeutic for the mind and soul.
Fashion designer and Sunflower Fund ambassador, Karen Monk-Klijnstra was the morning’s delightful compere and the regional Sunflower Fund team inspired and enlightened guests about their many exciting developments including the organisation’s movement to drive partnerships and donor recruitment throughout Africa to better serve the local patient base and rapidly developing needs of global patients.
“It was an exceptionally proud moment for us on Human Rights’ Day 2018, as we officially became a stem cell registry in addition to being a donor recruitment centre,” said The Sunflower Fund’s PR & Events Specialist, Allison Ekstrand.
“This is a huge milestone for The Sunflower Fund as this is the first registry that is focused on building partnerships and driving donor recruitment throughout Africa.
“May 2019 saw our first donor centres in Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria.”
Funds raised from the event will enable The Sunflower Fund to create awareness and education about blood stem cell donation, recruit more blood stem cell donors, grow the patient support fund and maintain a registry of committed donors.
