POLICE have identified the body of a woman found on Stockville Road as that of Thandeka Maphumulo (26) from KwaNdengezi.

Thandeka was identified by her family on Monday, 22 June after police released a statement seeking relatives of a murdered woman.

Her body was found on Sunday, 7 June when Mariannhill police were called to the scene on Stockville Road, near Mariannhill Toll Plaza.

KZN police spokesperson, Col Thembeka Mbele said when police arrived at the scene, they found the woman with multiple stab wounds on her body.

“It was established that the deceased was killed in another area and was dumped on a foot pathway. The body was found by the member of the community who was coming from work,” said Mbele.
