The knitted items were handmade by Grace Buchan, Alex Buchan, Jamie Buchan, Kiera Browning and Kelly Browning and were donated to Hearts in Hands Food Bank NPO.
The NPO then dropped them off along with a food donation at Tholuthando Children’s Home in Embo. Founder of Hearts in Hands NPO, Tracy Klokie said the home was incredibly grateful for the warm blankets.
“With the cold spell we have had of late, it is so heartwarming when we get to meet youngsters with a wonderful sense of community and social responsibility. We were so touched by their generosity and what shining examples they are to have hearts and hands to help,” she said.
