A 23-YEAR-OLD man, who robbed a victim of his cellphone, has been convicted and sentenced to six years imprisonment for robbery.

Westville SAPS communications officer, Capt Elizabeth Squires said in June 2019, the victim was walking along Roger Sishi Road when he was robbed of his cellphone, bank cards and keys.

“A week later the victim spotted the suspect and called the police who managed to arrest the suspect,” said Squires.

Station Commander, Col Lydiah Moema applauded the investigating officer, Det/Sgt SM Ngcobo for securing the conviction.
