Emily unafraid to go extra mile

Forest View Primary School's SPAR Star of the Month - October 2020.

FOREST View Primary School chose Emily Simmons, a Grade 4 learner, as its SPAR Star of the Month.

Emily joined the Forest View family at the start of Grade 3 year in 2019 and was quick to show her prowess on the sport field.

The talented sportswoman participates with commitment and enthusiasm in hockey, soccer and netball. Emily loves to play goalie for her soccer matches, she is a solid defender and always gives of her best for her team. She is also a very capable and keen swimmer. Emily is competitive during her physical education lessons and she enjoys the game, cone snatch. This has been a great social distance game for the learners during 2020.

Emily is about to complete her Grade 4 academic year in the newly established Remedial Unit at Forest View. Emily has thrived in a small classroom environment. Maths is the subject she enjoys most and is consistently working hard in the classroom. She also loves the opportunity to participate in a “brain break”, where learners are given a chance to move around before they refocus on their school work.

Emily’s consistent hard work and exceptional work ethic have set her apart. These qualities, coupled with her polite manners and friendly personality, will see her succeed at anything she applies herself to.
